In two years, Legacy Academy also boasts individual accolades of consecutive District Players of the Year, All State and All Star selections, and placing many students on the All District Academic team.

He brings 28 years of experience as a player and coach to the program, including 23 at the collegiate level. This included 6 years at Liberty university where he helped lead Liberty University to the NCAA tournament. In college, his recruiting experience included recruiting student-athletes from all over the country and in 37 different countries. He has coached and help develop over 50 Division I players and earn scholarships to national renown programs like New Mexico, Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and many others. He is committed to developing his players in all aspects of life both on and off the court.

As a collegiate head coach, Joyce has experienced plenty of success in compiling a 138-59 record at WNCC and Northeastern Junior College. In his last two seasons at NJC, his teams were 58-13, including a school record of 30-4 the year prior to joining Colorado State.

As a player, he was quite accomplished as well. An Albuquerque native, Joyce helped La Cueva High School earn their first state championship. He was selected first team all-state and earned a North-South All Start selection as well.

Following his high school career, Joyce played at Northeastern Junior College (NJC) under Hall of Fame coach, Lowell Roumph, from 1991-93. He was a leading scorer and an All-Region IX player on a team that won 43 games during his two years as point guard at NJC before transferring to Idaho State. He was a part of a Big Sky regular season championship team that eventually lost to Boise State in the championship game on ESPN, preventing the Bengals from advancing to the NCAA tournament. Joyce finished with 14 points in the contest.

Joyce finished his playing career under Hall of Fame Coach Dan Hays at Oklahoma Christian and was an all-conference selection as a senior and setting the conference record for three-pointers made (10) in a single game. His success continued as a coach. Joyce served as an assistant coach at Central Oklahoma (UCO), and helped the Broncos win the Lone Star Conference championship, which qualified the team for the national tournament. The Broncos finished the season ranked No. 4 in the country, with a 24-5 overall record during his tenure. From UCO, Joyce went on to be the assistant men’s basketball coach/sports information director at Colby Community College, which competes in the nationally renowned Jayhawk Conference. During his time there, he helped lead Colby to the best league record in school history. In addition, four of his recruits went on to play Division I basketball.
