Educational Assistant – Legacy Academy 

Job Description: 

We are seeking an Educational Assistant who is dedicated to supporting the educational and spiritual growth of our students in alignment with Christian values. This position will work closely with the lead teacher to provide instructional support, foster a nurturing classroom environment, and guide students in their development of Christ-like character. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Classroom Instruction: Support the lead teacher in delivering lessons and activities that engage and educate students.
  • Model Christ-like Behavior: Lead by example in demonstrating behavior that reflects Christian values, fostering an environment where students can grow spiritually and personally.
  • Maintain Classroom Environment: Ensure the classroom is supportive, safe, and organized, conducive to effective learning and personal growth.
  • Implement Classroom Management: Support the implementation of classroom rules and procedures, track student progress, and intervene as needed to ensure academic and spiritual development.
  • Supervise Student Well-being: Monitor students during non-classroom times to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with Lead Teacher: Work closely with the lead teacher to identify challenges students may face, whether academic, personal, social, emotional, or physical. Assist in developing and implementing Christ-centered solutions tailored to each student's needs. Monitor and support student progress towards agreed-upon outcomes and communicate effectively with the lead teacher and parents/guardians.
  • Other Duties:  Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the lead teacher or school administration to support the overall mission and function of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably in a Christian school environment.
  • Strong commitment to Christian values and principles.
  • Effective communication skills with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the classroom and school community.
  • Education:
    High school diploma required; additional education or training in child development, education, or a related field is desirable.

    Working Conditions:

    • This position operates in a school environment and involves regular interaction with students and educational staff.
    • May require occasional participation in school events or activities outside of regular school hours.
