Equipping Students for Life

Legacy Academy’s high school prepares students intellectually, spiritually, and socially for life after graduation. Alongside all necessary college preparatory courses, AP, and honors classes, we also have courses such as Consumer Math, Entrepreneurship, Investment, Chapel Band, and more to create a well-rounded, robust high school experience. Our students are invested in their school community and work to make everyone feel welcome and become successful. Our NHS mentorship program helps our incoming freshmen students acclimate to high school. NHS members coach freshmen in areas such as study habits, school spirit, time management, and more. Students enjoy being involved with one another in several sports, groups, traditions, and activities provided all throughout the year.

Legacy Academy’s classroom instruction is primarily based on the Bob Jones University Press Curriculum. Supplemental material is used as needed and where appropriate. We believe building a solid educational foundation through a Biblical worldview in every subject is best. The curriculum integrates a Biblical foundation for students to learn necessary skills and concepts that are vital to further their education and future success. Our curriculum is continually being evaluated to ensure that academic objectives and standards are met.

At Legacy Academy, we believe that a healthy, supportive, and effective partnership between the home and school is key to a student’s academic success and spiritual health. Positive and frequent communication is a priority for our staff, parents, and students.

Bible Integration- Bible class is held daily for all grades. Bible is taught using the Holy Bible and the Bob Jones curriculum. Legacy Academy uses the New Living Translation version of the Bible as the standard throughout all grades. Although teachers may use other versions to emphasize learning, it is essential to have a consistent version in classrooms for standardized class memorization and grading purposes.

Honor Roll- Legacy Academy holds students to high academic standards. Honor roll eligibility will begin in 9th grade and continue throughout their high school years. Students in grades 9-12 who maintain consistent exemplary academic standards will be recognized by inclusion in the honor roll.

Academic Letter- Academic letters and bars are earned by our academically highest-achieving juniors and seniors.

Accreditation- Legacy Academy is accredited by the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS). ACTS provides educational standards that Legacy Academy is required to fulfill in order to provide a quality education for your child. Legacy Academy is required to undergo an annual review with ACTS to maintain our accreditation status.

Legacy Academy offers opportunities for students to take honors and AP classes.

Teachers offer daily after-school tutoring.

At Legacy Academy, we recognize the vital importance of spiritual growth. Our primary focus is to disciple our students, helping them strengthen their foundation in God and equipping them to defend their faith. We are unwavering in our commitment to spiritual development, which is woven into every aspect of our day.

Students are encouraged to engage in moments of reflection, study God’s Word, and participate in prayer. We create an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and self-sacrifice, integrating Biblical teachings into daily routines to nurture Christlike character. Our school also offers student-led chapels, providing opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership development.

Spiritual life

Chapel

High School Chapel is led by our Chapel Band students. Chapel Band class trains the next generation to serve in their local church. Students greet, speak, sing, play instruments, run lighting and sound, and lead the prayer team. A variety of pastors from Legacy Church come to preach with sermons that inspire students each week.

Discipleship

Legacy Academy is a discipleship school where students from Bible-believing families come to grow in their walk with the Lord and mature in their faith. Each teacher and administrator handles every situation using biblical principles and prayer. Academics, athletics, Fine Arts, events, and behaviors are all opportunities to teach students how to make decisions and live life in a Biblical manner.

Community Service

Students at Legacy Academy develop a habit of self-sacrifice. They are provided various opportunities to serve within the school walls and encouraged to serve within their church. Seniors, as part of their Honors Ministry class, serve organizations in our community regularly. All high school students are required to have a specific amount of community service outside of school hours each year they attend Legacy Academy.

"As parents of four children who all attend Legacy Academy, our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Our oldest child has been at Legacy for seven years, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the role this school has played in their lives."

"Our family has been part of Legacy Academy for 5 years, starting during the COVID shutdown. The experience has been life-changing for our kids—better for their lives and truly fulfilling. The Christ-centered values at Legacy Academy matter deeply to our family, as each subject connects to Biblical principles, shaping our kids both academically and spiritually."

"Jessie thrived at Legacy Academy, becoming a valedictorian and excelling in college. She loved her school experience. My son Anthony has grown up at Legacy Academy, and it has shaped his life. He loves his school, teachers, classmates, and even seeing his principal worship God on stage."

Mel M.

"Legacy Academy reflects the same loving values parents teach at home. The staff is helpful and caring, making our experience as parents nothing but great. Our daughters are learning more in-depth subjects than they would in public school, including the true history of America, while also understanding that God’s hand is in every aspect of life."

Joshua B.

"We chose Legacy because we believe a Christian education is essential for the spiritual and educational formation of our children. We wanted to avoid secular influences that could undermine their faith during these formative years. Our children have had an incredible experience. Legacy has become an all-in-one solution for their church and school life, reinforcing both. They are happy, engaged, and excited to attend. They’re learning vital truths about God and His creation, and they are surrounded by friends and teachers who share our faith and values."
